The WEEE directive (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment) states that materials such as CRTs, LCD displays, PCBs, batteries and flame retardant plastics must be pre-treated before disposal.
Under the Environmental Protection Act, organisations have a duty of care to dispose of waste using registered carriers and that it is properly stored and disposed of at appropriately licensed facilities.
